If you want to move somewhere new, Alicante is without doubt one of the best cities to choose. No wonder the city and the province attract more and more tourists and expats: they can enjoy good weather and excellent food. But what budget do you need to live in Alicante?

€400 is what it will cost you (at the low end) to rent a one-bedroom apartment in Alicante. Three-bedroom apartments, on the other hand, start at €590.
You can also share an apartment with other people. In that case, you will only pay around €200. Of course, none of these figures include water, electricity and other bills, which can reach €90 a month. If you plan to buy a flat or buy a house in Alicante, the average price per m² is €1,519 (October 2020, source: Idealista data).
You will probably eat out at least twice a month. If you go to a restaurant with friends or family, you will spend on average between €12 and €17 per person. Now let's take a quick look at prices in supermarkets and other shops:
If you use public transport often, you may need to spend between €40 and €50 a month. Also, if you have a car, a litre of petrol in Alicante costs €1.30. By taxi, you can travel for between €7 and €15, depending on the distance within the city.
For young parents: if you want to enrol your child in a nursery in Alicante, the minimum price is €400 a month. As for going out, nightclub entry costs between €10 and €20. Note that on dates such as New Year's Eve, the price doubles. On the plus side, entry is often free before 1 am in summer. If you prefer a film night, the average cinema ticket costs €9.
