Beaches, peace and quiet, attractive costs
Located on the Costa del Azahar, Castellón has long fine sandy beaches and a pleasant climate that encourages outdoor living. The city is easy to get around and quiet, while offering everything you need day to day: shops, services and leisure. The cost of living and property prices remain attractive compared with other coastal destinations, which makes it a good place to buy without giving up quality of life. We help you target the neighbourhoods that best match your expectations.
An authentic quality of life and varied neighbourhoods
Living in Castellón means enjoying a friendly atmosphere and accessible services. The neighbourhoods have different profiles to suit every wish: the Centre for its buzz and community life, the East for a sought-after residential setting, the West for its shopping areas and the North for a more affordable option. Leisure, restaurants and cultural activities are easy to reach, often at lower prices than in the big cities. We advise you according to your lifestyle to find the right neighbourhood.

Frequently asked questions about property in Castellón
Can a foreigner buy property in Castellón?
+
Yes. Spain places no nationality restrictions on buying property. You do, however, need an NIE, the foreigner identification number, which is required to sign at the notary's and to open a Spanish bank account. We handle this step as part of our support.
What costs should you budget for on top of the property price?
+
As a rule, allow 10 to 15% of the asking price. This covers transfer tax (ITP) for a resale property or VAT for a new build, notary fees, land registry registration and administrative costs. Our online buying costs calculator gives a detailed estimate by region and type of property.
Do you need to be there in person to buy in Castellón?
+
No. Many of our clients buy from abroad. Viewings can be done by video call with a written report, and signing at the notary's is possible with a power of attorney. On site, we check what photos do not show: the real condition, the immediate surroundings, any nuisances, compliance.
What checks do you carry out before an offer?
+
We check the property's legal status at the land registry, that there are no debts or unpaid charges, planning compliance, the state of the community of owners and whether the price is consistent with recent sales in the area. These checks take place before any offer, not after.
How long does it take to buy property in Castellón?
+
From the first viewing to signing, it generally takes two to four months. The timing depends mainly on getting the NIE, any financing and the notary's availability. A cash purchase with a complete file can go faster.
