An authentic, unspoilt island
La Gomera keeps a strong natural character, away from the main tourist flows. Its forests, ravines and volcanic cliffs offer varied landscapes and plenty of hiking, discovery and time to recharge. Buying here means choosing a life in harmony with nature, in small villages where Canarian culture is still part of daily life. Far from the big resorts, its protected spaces and quality of life make La Gomera an ideal destination for those looking for authenticity and peace.
Peace and quality of life
Living in La Gomera means a gentle pace, little traffic and often clear skies, ideal for stargazing. With no large shopping centres and villages spread out, the atmosphere is calm and neighbours are friendly. For a property purchase, this means peaceful homes close to nature and a daily life where well-being comes first. English-speaking support helps you find the areas that suit this way of life and carry out your project with peace of mind.
Varied areas for every project
La Gomera is made up of several municipalities, such as Agulo, Alajeró, Hermigua, San Sebastián de La Gomera, Valle Gran Rey and Vallehermoso, each with its own atmosphere. Valle Gran Rey attracts people with its sunshine and beaches, while the inland villages appeal for their calm and their landscapes. Whatever your project, a main home, a holiday home or a pied-à-terre, there are suitable options. English-speaking support helps you find the area that best matches your expectations and buy with confidence.

Every journey is unique. So is every goal. That is why we offer two packages to suit your needs: full purchase support, from the search to the signing, or legal due diligence on a property you have already found.

Legal due diligence
You have already found the property. We secure the purchase, no viewings needed.
A picturesque hilltop village, Agulo is known for its sea views and unspoilt surroundings. Narrow streets, traditional Canarian architecture and the nearby Garajonay National Park make it a calm, authentic place. Suits buyers looking for peace, views and short trips to the north coast; services are more limited than in the capital.
Valle Gran Rey
An area very popular with foreign buyers, Valle Gran Rey offers black sand beaches, cliffs, coves and a tourist-oriented choice of leisure and restaurants. A relaxed atmosphere, an alternative cultural life and good hiking trails. Ideal for a second home or a holiday-let investment, with road access and basic amenities in the valley.
San Sebastián de La Gomera
The capital and main port of the island, San Sebastián combines public services, shops and ferry links to Tenerife. A small Canarian town feel, with historic streets and local markets. Suits those who want practical access to infrastructure (health, schools) while enjoying the island pace. Public transport and the ferry make getting around easy; the town centre is close to the port and restaurants.

Frequently asked questions about property in La Gomera
Can a foreign buyer purchase property in La Gomera?
+
Yes. Spain places no nationality restrictions on buying property. You do, however, need an NIE, the foreigner identification number, which is required to sign at the notary's and to open a Spanish bank account. We handle this step as part of our support.
What costs should you budget for on top of the property price?
+
As a rule, allow 10 to 15% of the asking price. This covers transfer tax (ITP) for a resale property or VAT for a new build, notary fees, land registry registration and administrative costs. Our online buying costs calculator gives a detailed estimate by region and type of property.
Do you need to be there in person to buy in La Gomera?
+
No. Many of our clients buy from abroad. Viewings can be done by video call with a written report, and signing at the notary's is possible with a power of attorney. On site, we check what photos do not show: the real condition, the immediate surroundings, any nuisances, compliance.
What checks do you carry out before an offer?
+
We check the property's legal status at the land registry, that there are no debts or unpaid charges, planning compliance, the state of the community of owners and whether the price is consistent with recent sales in the area. These checks take place before any offer, not after.
How long does a property purchase in La Gomera take?
+
From the first viewing to signing, it generally takes two to four months. The timing depends mainly on getting the NIE, any financing and the notary's availability. A cash purchase with a complete file can go faster.
